Mobile phone maker Nokia
expanded its line of low-end smartphones on Tuesday with the Asha 310.
This new phone features a 3-inch touchscreen and comes with dual-sim
capability and Wi-Fi access and is aimed to bolster the manufacturer's market share in developing markets.
The Finnish company said that the new Asha 310 will come with 20MB of
internal storage and support 32GB microSD cards. Nokia has included a
2MP rear camera in the phone and the company claims that it offers
talk-time of 17 hours. The Finnish manufacturer is offering 40 free EA
games with the phone and has included apps like Xpress Browser, Nokia
Maps, Facebook, Twitter and eBuddy. The device also features Nokia's
Easy Swap technology to switch between sim cards.
Nokia has been losing market share to Samsung
and Apple in the high-end smartphone market and is also struggling at
the low end against growing competition from Chinese manufacturers.
Nokia plans for the phone to be in stores in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Brazil this quarter at a price of $102.
